What is a food tour? A note from the Owner of Cape Ann Foodie Tours

What is a food tour? A food tour is a different way to see a city. You can go on a whale watch or go visit a museum, but food tours allow you to become a local, eat where the locals eat, meet the vendors and hear the great tales of America’s oldest working seaport. I liken it to the many times I have visited a small city and just walked around aimlessly because I had no idea what I was looking at. Our tour guides bring to life the stories that make these New England towns so amazing. And on top of that we get to try a host of incredible foods.

Lots of people may not know about food tours, but the number of travelers who do know about food tours is increasing by the minute. The word “experience” is now the buzz world for tourists.

Don’t you think that the happiest times you’ve ever had involve experiences? Do you remember your gifts/holiday presents long after they are given to you? Well, maybe if they’re funny or perhaps extravagant. For instance, if someone bought me a new car with one of those giant red bows like they show on television (or a very cute puppy) I would remember those. But a trip to Bali? Now, this is the gift that keeps on giving – because it involves the excitement of planning, a possibly renewed sense of adventure, meeting new people, and food. I mean really – who doesn’t like food? And people who are escaping reality and want to – yes, they do –encounter new people who share their love of travel and provide stimulating and unfamiliar stories of their own lives.

Food tours have been on TripAdvisor’s as “the fastest growing experience”. Foodcations are the best way to experience a destination and are becoming more and more popular among travelers. In fact, TripAdvisor found that food tours were the fastest growing experience category. Tasting your way through local cuisines and dining with locals are culinary experiences that can easily become a travel highlight.

I invite you to come out and find our for yourself what a food tour is!

We aim to give visitors a great tour by showing them the real Cape Ann and by that we mean the behind-the-scenes Cape Ann. I truly believe our tours are a great way to highlight your trip to the area.
